Jen is a Certified Grief Yoga® Teacher and Certified Grief Educator.

The mission of Rise is to normalize the human experience of life challenges, change, hardships, grief and loss. Honoring anyone who has endured pain & loss of any sort. You will move through the Cycle of Compassionate Transformation® using yoga, movement, breath and sound to help move pain and struggle through the body. This makes room for more empowerment and remembering with more love.

This practice can be done from a mat or chair.

This is a thoughtfully planned class. To honor everyone's time and energy,

Please register by 5PM on the day of the class.

If no one is registered by then, I will take the evening to rest & reset.

If participants have signed up, but not joined, the session will close five minutes after the start time,
unless you have contacted me.
Thank you so much for your understanding.

Grief is a change you did not want. Grief hurts. Grief is exhausting. Grief lives in the body as an unwanted guest and teacher. The price of having loved, and loved deeply, is loss. Rise invites you to an all levels experience, which can be performed from a chair or mat. This healing opportunity is for anyone who has been experiencing suffering from a recent loss or one that has happened long ago.

Grief has no timeline. You show up with whatever is present on that day. People who have experienced a divorce, loss of a pet, a relationship, a miscarriage, loss of a job...are all welcome in this space. The passing of a loved one, creates indescribable pain for those who are left behind.

As you participate, you are encouraged to care for yourself. This may mean resting at any point, adjusting or varying the movements or saying "No" to any of the guidance given. If you're willing to allow your camera to be on, it guides in class modulation and the offering of variations. But, once again, "No" is a full sentence.

Please wear comfy clothing. A journal, pen and pillow can be helpful at the beginning of class.

Investment is a $5 donation..

Be Supported

On April 25th, we shared a beautiful and sacred experience using journaling, yoga shapes, movements, our breath and tons of communal support. Below is the colorful mandala that was crafted and presented itself as an anchor of growth & change, even if difficult times.

This extended class included gentle yoga shapes, somatic exercises and explored what support looks like, feels like, and sounds like. The class leaned into how to better support themselves in times of difficulty and change. They received a deep rest meditation to help support their ongoing grief & healing process.

"The in-person class was a safe space for me to move and express my feelings. It is something that I have carried with me and reflected on many times. Thank you."

"Tonight, from the privacy of my home, I did my first grief yoga session. If you're struggling with anxiety and grief, this definitely might help you. Feel free to reach out and I'll get you the details. It was beautiful."

"I was very hesitant to participate in this class as I knew it would bring up feelings I had been trying to ignore. After losing a close family member in January, I realized how quickly life moves on, even if you haven’t. This class was the first time I said my loved one's name and allowed the sadness I felt on the inside to come out. It was the first time I did not have to be strong for the people around me. I could feel & express the loss I had experienced. I look forward to future classes and getting to break down other walls in my life that I have put up to protect myself from feeling the hurt"
